Treehouse is DONE!

There'll be a lot of photos! :)
Again, some technical information :) This is a house based on the picture of Jill Barklem (Spring Story). The scale is about 1:200. The branches and blooming flowers are made by talented Russian miniature artist Штанько Лариса. My husband made all the LED lights and wires. Hope you'll enjoy it :)

Treehouse Tree

is almost done! I've finished all major work on the tree trunk. Now it needs to dry, be sanded and painted.
It looks really cool :)
I can't edit photos due to some issues with my PC, so you'll have to watch them in this strange quality. Sorry.
All the beautiful flowers and tree branches that you see here are made by a talented master Штанько Лариса
She has also made yellow flowers that will be "planted" nearby the roots.

And OH! We have hooked up all the wires. So our mice have their lights now :)

Thanks for watching! The house will be finished soon, so stay tuned!

The TREE of the Treehouse

Hi Everyone!
My little daughter went to the nursery, (or how do you call groups for smallest children?:)) she's so big now!  And that means more tome for my minis, finally!

Today I started to make the tree around the rooms of my treehouse. I had an old air drying clay  (LaDoll) package. but it was already to hard to use comfortably. So I brake it to pieces and mixed with water. Now I can only use it as a papier-mache, with the help of dental instruments, because it's too soft for hands.
It is my first attempt in sculpting and I quite like the result. I made texture with thin metal stick. Later, when the clay dries, I'll sand it.

That is the back. I still need to add one LED light to the top, so I haven't closed the back yet. I fixed the wires with hot glue gun. They will be covered with clay anyway, so I thought hot glue was perfect for fixing them in place.
Say tuned to see how the tree turns out! :)
Have fun and greative time, it's spring, guys!

Bed Tutorial

Hi!
I made this bed tutorial specially for MicroMini Weekend 2015.
I rarely do items exactly the same, so that is just a how-to on this particular bed.
I used a piece of balsa wood, but it can be any thick material for a start. As a soft part of the bed I used wrapping foam, but, again, it can be anything soft.
I do not use fabric, because it is too thick. I rather use paper napkin for blankets and curtains.

Back and front of the bed is made from thin wood. It comes 0,8 mm thick, but I made it thinner with Dremel's grinding tip.
stands are made from the same wood.

I'd be glad to answer any questions!

the smallest bathroom...

... I have ever made. And the smallest I have ever seen, actually :)

Meanwhile, the spring is on the way! (but you can't really see it in these 1,5 meter deep layer of snow on the playground :) )
 1st of March!
