short post about fireplaces.
Hi!
If you ever wondered, how can you make realistic fireplace in microscale, here is food for thought:
cut basic shape from poly-clay (this is the clay to bake in the oven)
carve stones or bricks with the needle and bake it
paint the whole piece with black acrylic paint and gently whipe it off with wet tissue (this way paint will stay in cracks and the stones themselves would be greyish)
These are the two roomboxes that were ordered as a copy of 2013 Xmas roombox
The other way to make fireplace is to cut it from air-drying clay and paint after it dries. You can enclose it into a wall as well, like I did in previous roombox:
